hey gunnutz help me out
i already have a toz .22 and a tt-33

looking to buy my one and only center fire rifle...well thats the plan so far...

Im interested in a bolt 30 cal
maybe putting a Remington 700 sps tactical 20' barrel in an aics folder then glass...within my budget barley

but my question is is the sps good enough to merit that nice stock or do i need to start with somthing nicer like a used 700 p maybe

im interested in shooting accurately out to ~300m
but my main interest is trying to stretch that out as far as i can find somwhere to shoot maybe 600-1000

just so you no and dont ask about my silly short barrel and folder i want this because i want to be able to ride to the range on my motorcycle
annnd i want a .308 caliber so that i can use it to hunt if i find myself doing

soooo

anyway help me out
is the sps a piece of ####?

BTW that 20 incher with the folder is gonna look badazz, especially slung over your shoulder tooling down the highway!!

Hungry here:
And most of all if you are on a dual sport motorcycle! Been there, done that on my KLR650 ! Lots of fun with a soft case! :D
whoops, I hit the wrong button... I wanted to hit the <Quote> button....

I just bought the sps tactical SSD model for an AICS 1.5 pics this week so you can see what it looks like. Here it is minus the AICS.

I have an AICS 2.0 and SPS Tactical in .223 on order. I will post a review with pics in a few weeks when it is all put together. I will be using an Elite 4200 Tactical 6-24x50 for distance work and an Elite 3200 Tactical 10x for shorter range shooting. No other mods (except the obligatory tacticool oversized bolt knob) planned at present.

The working bits on a Remington are functionally identical. It is only the cosmetics that differ on Remington 700's

What I cannot wrap my head around is after the dust settles you will have an $1800 -2000 rifle and it will still just be a factory Remington. Nothing you are thinking of investing in will make it shoot any better.

after the AICS he needs to add a good barrel and glass (my LTR holds sub MOA) with its factory barrel

Obtunded old chap - you are ever the salesman :D

What I forgot to add to my post was that I shall be swap out the barell in due course - I am kinda partial to quality barells having been spoiled with my TRG and Coyote - but will shoot the stock barell till the familial 'heat' over the purchase of the Coyote has disappated somewhat LOL !

Just received my AICS 1.5 from Wolverine today (great to deal with fast shipping and packaged well). I put it all together, now just to get it sighted in at the range. Once again it is a rem 700 sps tactical AAC-SD in .308 with Millet TRS-1 scope.

yo redddogg,

just wondering what muzzle brake you are gonna put on the end of it?

By the way, very nice rifle indeed. I sold one a while ago just like it and am now considering building another one.

Looks great

Haven't decided yet. Having a hard time finding canadian suppliers that have them in stock, any tips are appreciated.
