Hey all.

I have some AR upper parts (BCG, receiver, barrel) coming my way, and am wondering where I should send it to be put together properly.

Personal feedback would be appreciated. *edit* Im in Ontario.

Thanks.

Put out a kind request on teh board here. There are lots of guys in Toronto/Niagara area that have hte tools and experiance.

Most guys will do it for a case of beer. The lower you can pretty much do yourself with no issues, you need a guy with an action block for the lower and some patience.

Do the build yourself, it takes very little time to get familiar with the components. It may seem a little outside your comfort level at the beginning, but in the long run it will be worth the effort.

Depends where in Ontario you are, but honestly if you have a set of punches and some ingenuity - you should be able to do it yourself at home, or at least most of it anyhow.

For AR work in the southern ON,GTA region, the only choice IMO is Casey at
TacOrd.Top shelf, call though he might be busy/back logged?

Don't be scared to take it on yourself. Read up, watch some vids and you'll see it's not all that hard. You cant really mess up an assembly of an AR. Theres nothing better then the satisfaction of building and firing your own AR. IMO It's better then ###, but that's only because I have a crack like addiction to AR's.

Use the brownells assembly vids, they are very thorough and easy to follow. All you need is a small punch set, a small ball peen hammer, and the 7 dollar stock wrench.

Good luck

I love all these people who don't READ the OP.

You cannot assemble an UPPER without specialized tools, anyone can do a lower with next to nothing.

You need an action block, vise, and barrel nut wrench to do an upper.

Next up you guys are going to tell him that he can put on a new FSB on a new barrel with a toothpick.

Fail,

I got mine together without any specialized tools, it's not a race car its a barrel and reciever. Mabye for you but not for everyone...

Funny comment to someone who has built race cars (not assembled, built, unlike an AR) and competed internationally.

If you want to ghetto together your upper with a 2x4 and a strap wrench then by all means.

Assembling a AR is not that hard, as to what kind of tool you will need is up to your level of mechanical aptitude, IIRC one of the sponsors will rent you the right tools that you will need.
