'Tis a sad day. In a moment of weakness I've just done something I rarely do and I think I'm going through withdrawl symptoms:(. I've just parted with a rifle, one of the two Jungle Carbines I have, opps, had. In addition to what you see, with it went the original butt stock, box of ammo and an old gun case.

However, I still kept this one and in reality, I needed two like I need a hole in the head. Still, this isn't something I do very often.

You sold a Millsurp? Whats that like? There are some in my safe I have thought about selling but everytime I take them out to get some pictures my eyes tear up and back in the safe it goes. One of these days maybe.

When I saw the title of your thread I thought you were going to say: In a moment of weakness I bought another gun. :dancingbanana: That would be an appropriate statement.

In your case I believe the proper term is: In a moment of madness, I sold a gun. V:I:
And what a beauty it is. What were you thinking?

:eek:Sell 'The Moose' with the rifle:eek:!! Heaven forbid!! Even the concept of that boarders on blasphemy and and would push the value of the transaction above the buyers means. Some things in life are beyond monetary value:p. ;)Gotta' keep the Moose. 'We' go way back:).
Cheers

Boy I know what you mean. I have a unissued Irish Constabulary Lee Enfield #4MkII, Two Mausers(Husqvarna) Two Ljugmanns, and a Spanish Destroyer They do the same to me. I am the only one in the house who sees there beauty. I made the mistake twenty years ago of using a 7x57 BBrazillian Mauser unfired as an action for a custom. It is a nice custom rifle, but.....WHAT WAS i THINKING!

I 'almost' did the same thing!! Almost. I had a very nice '08 Brazilian Mauser in 7x57mm I was going to use as a basis for a custom 7mm. Instead, I ended up getting a Schultz & Larsen in 7x61 S&H which satisfied my craving for a custom 7mm. Then I sold the '08 to gunbug.

Does the moose appear in other photos? It's kinda becoming CGN's "Travelocity gnome" ith random appearances at weddings, birthdays and the odd obituary photo.

The Moose and the brown Shag carpet with rifle "X" are a definite Staple around here. :D

:)There's three basic reasons for 'appearances' of that specific Moose in my long gun photos and the 'other' Moose in handgun photos;
  • 1st, Moose, by far, are my favorite big game animal:D.
  • 2nd, To signify quality:D.
  • 3rd,;) I believe it's the Chinese year of the Moose, or at least it should be:p.

Awwwwwww hell, let's keep the moose going......
Okay Johnn, eye would appreciate an honest answer on this one....k?
It is rumored that one of those two moosies has a habit of winking.
Up until this point I didn't know there were two of the beloved critters.
Sooooo, which one is it that winks? ;)
And, you have a couple of fluffball moosies as well. I think one of the hats
of one of those furrball moosies went to Africa?
Just going by memory here.

This is gonna be good........................:)

:confused:Not that I'm aware of, at least I've never seen it:). Here's an example of each, in photos of a couple of my favorites.

As for other examples, I have a fair selection I've saved. And with Africa, on their trip there hunting, my Daughter and Son In Law took sort of a fluffball 'mascot' with them but it wasn't a Moose.

When you fall off a horse your supposed to get right back on. You have cash in hand, so you better buy another one to fill the void in the safe! ;-)

I've got an item I've been working on that would help lessen the anguish:p a little. A Pedersoli Sharps in 45-70:cool:. I just have to work on my buddy a little harder.
