Beeman won't break open

My friend has a Beeman air rifle, not sure the exact model. It is a .177 cal. that her Dad picked up at Canadian Tire. We were shooting it tonight. I noticed that it was fairly difficult to break the barrel open to load the pellet and #### the spring. After a dozen or so shots, it seemed to loosen up and be much easier to open. However, it became stiff again for a few shots, and finally it is impossible to get the barrel to open. Any ideas what the problem is?

check if the breech seal is loose and catching.

The breech seal seems okay. I've managed to get the barrel to open, however it takes a good whack over my knee to do so. Before even doing that was not enough to open it. It is still not at all what it should be. I'm not sure what else to check.

Lube the breech block pivot points and breech lock,
these are often overlooked and will cause difficult barrel breaking. KD

Check the pin on the hinge, sometimes they get loose and move.

I managed to get it to open again, and put a little lube on the hinge pin and breech lock. It seems to have helped greatly.

super lube all opening points, check your stock screws if loose. things get rattling and she might not be closing flush-jamming-B2

Return it back and get another one. Best, easiest and safest thing to do.

EDIT: Damn it I should read the comments before posting. Yea just do as he said return it.
