.22LR Federal 525 bulk pack @ $16.99

Just picked up a 525 bulk pack of the standard Federal 36gr. hollow point .22LR for $16.99 at Cabellas

Seems like a decent price and I get decent performance with Federal cheapo ammo.

BTW I asked if they had any of the 25 round mags in for the Mossy tactical and was told they should be in store by Wednesday from central distribution.

I just bought two boxes of this ammo at Cdn Tire for quite abit more then $16.......

Of coarse at Cabela's they would probably try to talk me into buying a different type of .22 ammo because this one doesn't say it is for a 64B................

That's a good deal. Picked up a bunch at Calgary WSS last week at $19.99 a box. I think the local CDN Tire was close to $30 each last time I checked.

I'd rather buy ammo from Lanz or Al Simmons anyways - support your local gun shops.

The funny thing about that is they're listed on the shelf at $19.99 but come up at $16.99 at the register.

I think that they were on sale last week, then wholesale had to put their's on sale and have kept them there. But I don't know for sure.

The blue box stuff should not cost more than $20, so I find the new $30 price at CT and Wal-Mart absurd. Neither my 10/22 nor my Savage can shoot it accurately, and others at the range haven't had much luck with it either.

As was already mentioned, Remington ammo is severely overpriced as well. Yellow Jackets cloverleaf out of my 10/22... problem is, they cloverleaf with 5 shots, because 2/5 are usually duds (slightly exaggerated, but I NEVER have as many misfires with any other ammo. I even experimented with one dud round, and rotated in the chamber 4 times. 4 solid hits, and it never went bang).

My favourite plinking rounds (reasonable accuracy with reasonable cost) are Winchester Dynapoints, and they're priced right where they should be: $20/box.
