I was in my local shop today and a garand caught my eye. It was a Danish 30-06 made in the 50's in mint condition...1399 was the price. is this good or bad? I know nothing about garands and would like to know what to look for

In Canada now, asked price for Garand are high. $1399 is on the expensive side in my opinion unless the gun is "mint" inside and out, anyways the Garand expert will know better.
Garand are getting more expensive these day, even run of the mill arsenal re-worked Garands are going for around $800 or so, Danish Garand are quite rare and if its in mint condition with all original parts, IMHO $1200 and up is not unreasonable.
