SKS Bullpup

Recently ran across something that caught my attention, an SKS Bullpup Stock Kit. Pretty cool looking thing, especially for $200. I'd post a link but I beleive that is not allowed.

I am sure someone can answer this question without thinking twice, is this conversion kit legal for Canada? My guess would be not, but worth asking.

Both of these searches were in the Red Rifle section.

If they are under the OAL that is allowed, then I can see why they are illegal, but if the barrel is'nt hacked, and they are still long enough to be legal, then it does'nt make sense why a type of conversion is illegal.

P.S. don't make fun of me, but I did'nt know they were illegal either...lol....I never did a search on them, because I have'nt owned a SKS for almost 2 years now, so I guess I'm a little bit out of the loop, but the thread interested me so I clicked it on......Now that my CZ-858 makes permanent residency in my Safe, I have kind of lost touch on the new SKS stuff out there.

Honestly, the only rule that is needed is the OAL one. All the rest:

• minimum barrel length
• altering a barrel yourself
• centerfire semi being restricted with less than 18.5" barrel
• bullpup conversion stocks

is bulls**t and redundant. And the OAL simply determines classification (restricted or non), not if it prohibited or not. It is just an example of how lawyers and bureaucrats can complicate a very simple situation. Even simpler is just abolishing all firearms related laws and dealing with the behavior of people instead of inanimate objects, but that is too practical for this country.

Search

Must admit I did do a search and turned up zero hits. Did not realize the default search limits results to a week old or newer. First forum I have seen with such a default. Now that I know, I am sure my searches will bring better results.

Yeah, it doesn't take long to learn (usually the hard way) the search defaults suck.

Don't worry you will get your chance to flame the next guy in about 2-3 weeks when they ask the same question.
