I think the Aug looks awesome but sadly i believe theese are prohibited in Canada due to its a Bulpup aftermarket stock

Actually, the props for the Imperial Stormtroopers' blasters were built from Sterling L2A3 SMGs.

And the scope isnt really a scope either. It is part of the sight system out of a sherman tank. If you look through one and squint really really hard you can see just barely see crosshairs of a sort.

I think it looks hideous! Only thing going for it is the bullpup feature, but unfortunately it's illegal so I've heard.

Point taken. Though the majority of the Stormtroopers in the movie had the modified Sterling props, after looking it up, I see you are correct - they did use some MG-34s for props as well.
