Not true! Aluminum is fine for rings and scope mounts. You're not going to use it for a hammer so whats wrong with it?

i'm using a promag mount, so far so good after 200 rounds and a few cleanings....

I've got a Bassett low mount with a Leupold 2X7 VX11 compact on it. A very satisfying combination on my M-305. I use it as a predator control rifle, so I went to the lighter compact scope after using my Millett 4X16X50 30mm tube for a time
. I often use the rifle sans scope so a reliable, zero repeatable quick release mount was in order. The mount delivers as advertised after numerous mount/dismount cycles. Mr Bassett is a true gentleman to deal with. No hassles getting it into Canada. I'll deal with him again.

No problem since I removed it. I tried a M14.ca mount it was ok but would be much better if you added a screw into the stripper clip guide. I think that would make it very solid.

Waitin on my Burris XTR rings to mount a Millett TRS-1 on it,and i've changed the rear sight for a M1 Grand with some National match front post and rear aperture.Can't wait to go to the range i'l post some results
