Trying to figure out which scopes I want on which rifles. Would appreciate some opinions on what is the best setup.

Current configuration:

Older Savage 110 in .300 win. mag.
Tasco (Japan) 4-16x40AO
Not used that often but might be used for moose hunting or occasionally deer or bear

Newer Savage 11 in .243
Burris Fullfield II 3-9x40
Used for coyote huntung any time I will be doing any walking

I have a few new scopes on their way
One of which is a Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40. I think the Tasco on the .300 is just waiting to give me scope eye. Its fairly close eye relief. Should I put the Vortex on the .300 or put it on the .243 and move the Fullfield II over to the .300. I do like the current setup of the .243 but i am thinking the Vortex with the higher magnification might be better suited to the .243 for coyote hunting. Thats the way i'm leaning.
What do you think.

.300 on the top. .243 on the bottom

If these were in my possession, I would trade scopes on those rifles provided the Burris is up to the recoil of the 300 Win. Mag. Keep it on three or four power and do your thing. If you happen to need more optics, usually you should have time to dial the power up.

That's what I was thinking as well.

I was going to take the Tasco out of the mix completely. Put the vortex Diamondback 4-12 on one of them. Are you guys saying to keep the Tasco in the mix.
The Burris will definately handle the .300 recoil.

Burris to the 300, Vortex on the 243, Tasco to the EE.

Yeah I think thats what I am going to do. Except I will probably keep the tasco for another small caliber rifle at some point.

I thought the Made in Japan Tascos were supposed to be a lot better than the current ones? Anybody know much about this? I would appreciate some info on this.

I think the Tasco would be right at home on a 17 HMR, or perhaps a .223?
