New Lee turret press owner....with a question for other owners?

I might have to get a loadmaster soon....loading 308 and 223 from my single stage classic cast is getting a bit too slow....

pay GREAT ATTENTION to your priming mechanism if you get one- the sliders do tend to get munched ; and get PISTOL versions so you get the case feeder as well. WHAT do i mean- ?get the 45 acp version instead of the 308, and buy a SPARE TURRET AND DIES FOR THE 308- then, when you want to do 308, just change turrets and adjust the case feeder for the longer round; you may also find the lee POWDER MEASURE somewhat INADEQUATE for the job- i ended up with a dillon B/C OF THE AUTO TRIP- same deal with the 223, but you have to change shelplates as that one is unique to only few calibers- the 9mm looks like it'll fit, but it doesn't , it's just a hair too sloppy- and order a 223 pusher for your case feed while you're at it, but the one for the lee 1000 that comes in 223- these have dual holes for both the loadmaster and the 1000 - that's a little trick that lee doesn't tell you

What I find interesting about the argument's from the dillon guy's is about the reliability of their press's.
Aren't the lower cost/numbered version's all hand indexed? They don't come standard with case feeder's?
With each pull of the handle my loadmaster slide's in a fired case, deprime's, size's, prime's,flare's,charge's,seat's a bullet, crimp's taper crimp's and then eject's the loaded round.
All this happen's with EACH pull of the handle. With this much happening all at once it's easy to see why some people can't cope with it.
If I wanted it could also position a bullet above the case for seating.
All this for less then the cost of their case feeder.........

the answer to both questions is yes, as far as the 550 is concerned. i've already elaborated on how you advance that "thing"and the disadvantges thereof- i beleive that the square deal auto indexes, as well as the 650,but you need to redefine "lower cost" when you get above the 550, and the square deal dies that you can only get from dillon- the thread's funny

Sorry if I seem ignorant ,because I am.
I've never looked at any other press's.
I took the time to learn what I have and it's problem's and overcame them.
But I do that with everything, I learn it to the best of my ability and do my best to figure it out and use it.

New loadmaster 45acp 500 rounds so far. Utube is your friend for set up.getting smoother ,last 100 no screw ups, first 400 6% reject rate (no primer, crushed primer, upside down primer,) happy with it so far

mi lee turret its the best beautifull machine, mi ex lee pro 100 in 9mm was a lemon, to the point its been collecting dust for 2 years in the basement.

why don't you list the problems you've had with it, and we'll see what's wrong, or list it under the e&e for an appropriate amount, ?Its doing no one any good in your basement

Did hunchak actually get banned because of what he said in this thread?

Not likely. To be fair, Hunchak often contributes valuable tidbits....he just can't say anything good about Lee products.

Its like everytime he sees the word "Lee", he is overcome with rage and just has to put in his .02.

Nope, I don't think he should be banned at all, certainly not for his post on this thread.

SO i got one of my Lee1000 loading the .223 (yes i order an extra 3 hole plate and carrier plate assembly for it... switch out in 3 min :D:D )

So working on the Loadmaster purchase now. Good advive in regards to Youtube. I actually download a copy of the Lee1000pro video and use it as reference to take it down and clean once a year (full strip) makes mine run like cream. :)
