I was bored tonight so I thought I'd share some pictures of my new Viper PST mounted. There seems to be a few on the fence with Vortex, perhaps this might change your mind. I had this out last weekend and it's absolute ###, the glass is sharp (better then my Bushnell 4200) and in lower light, clarity is superb... the illuminated reticle helps too. ;)

Is that a 4-16 or a 6-24? Just ordered a 6-24 so i'm interested in your observations! Is was down to a vortex or a sightron, and i went vortex due to my good luck with other stuff of theirs (razor 1-4 and viper 8x42 binos).

This is the 6-24 version, the 4-16 has a shorter front end (less tapered) I checked out Sightron too, but I couldn't find any tactical versions or any models with open turrets.

I'm pretty sure your guna love it, this thing is a beauty! Let me know if you have any questions I've went over this thing with a fine tooth comb...

Where did you get it and how much? PM if you want. Anything you don't like about it?

Retail on these units are ~$850 at this point I haven't found anything I don't like. Everything is as it should be.
What platform is that rifle? I love it!

That is a Rem 700 wrapped with the new MDT Tac21 Chassis. It's straight up ######.

How does the sunshade attach? How is the illumination? Is yours MOA or Mils?

The sunshade attach's like any other, it's threaded. The pictures don't show mine attached, I don't see a need for it. The illumination is crystal clear, very sharp. I've only tried it in moderate lower lighting and settings 7,8,9,10 seem to be the most useful, lower settings are hard to see but I'm assuming it's because it wasn't dark enough. Mine is MOA it's all I've ever been taught so I see no need to change.

A few other things...

1. Eye relief is sick, 4 whole inches!
2. The zero stop is frickin handy, sometimes I get lost or forget my position so having this feature rocks.
3. Metal turrets are nice it gives you that solid feel plus it looks waaay better then plastic.

An acquaintance of mine blew a Viper apart on his 338 Ultra Mag. Got a brand new one across the counter as promised, but he wouldn't put it back on the UM. It sits on a 25-06 now. Leupy went on the UM. Eagleye.

That thing looks mean! It hurts just looking at it. What cartridge is it chambered for? BTW nice scope! I think Vortex are on their way to becoming a great known product, because they are manufacturing a great product. Congrats on the nice rig!

Designed to work with NV if I remember right.

Oh that would make sense then.

Yes, I've herd good feedback on their warranties, so this is good to hear.

My rig is a .308 as far as know the PST line and the Razor lines were tested up to 50BMG. I don't know what that means really, the breaks they make nowadays makes 50's absolute puppy dogs. I guess with their warranty you should try it on anything, if it folds you get a new one no questions asked.

I've blown a leupy apart on a .308 ;)

Any scope can fail, but just one occurance doesn't mean much statistically...

Yup, I agree. My Dad's slug gun tore apart three Bushnells in row, we mounted up a Vortex Diamondback and it has been good since.

Which Bushnells?
There are Bushnells and Bushnells :)

I have been using 4000 series from B&L and then 4200 from Bushnell and have never had any serious issues.

I can vouch for the 4200 Bushnell line. I've used them for years before Vortex came along. Decent quality and glass was good. Good value for the money IMO.

Where did you get that scope from?

I got one of the last ones from ATRS, there seemed to have been really high demand for these and initially they were hard to get. I'm not sure if supply has caught up yet though...

Great pictures 50cal, that is one beauty setup.

Thanks, this has been this rifles 4th make over, I'm finally satisfied with the outcome.

Two Trophys and a Legend. Decent glass, and Bushnell came good on the warranty-although they did take their sweet time about that! Put a Diamondback 1.75-5X32 on it, shot probably 50 rounds since then, maybe more, and no troubles. All three of the Bushnells went down in 20 rounds or less.
