There was a time when I thought it was important to have one of all of the CZ's.
That said I have a Winchester 69A that I'd put against and of my CZ's. I hear that the TOZ that is now a Win model is a great shooting rifle for less than 300.00
Personally never cared too much for the Ruger 77's price wise. FS
 
My biggest complaint is not the accuracy of many of these rifles -but the factory triggers.I just can';t see why they can't have a good trigger''out of the box''-I was shooting my old single shot cooey and the trigger is INFINITELY better so you can't say ''you get what you pay for''.I'm hoping MARLIN puts their new trigger on ALL of their models-once the assembly line is geared up for it-the cost can't be that much more.Even savage puts their ''accu trigger ''on their ''cub'' models
 
I would cruise the gun shows and online sites looking for an older Anschutz, Walther, early T-Bolt, Mk I Brno,Kliengunther, Sako, Win 52-69-75, Model 52 clones ( Browning/Winchester) lots of other european and domestic high quality possibilities. They all represent a bygone era where quality and workmanship did not cost an arm and leg to own. I own several Coopers, they are well engineered, well finished, and very accurate, as were a lot of older firearms in their day. My favourite go to guns are my 1966 T-Bolt, a mid 50's Walther, and a 52C sporter, to get one of these older treasures, you do not have to be rich, just quick.

I'll second that. My stainless heavy barrel with accu-trigger and gorgeous thumbhole laminate stock is the only 22 rimfire left in my collection. Why? Because it does everything well, solid fit and finish, and its made in Canada to boot!

Hopefully the mention of the CZ trigger kit doesn't give the wrong impression about the factory trigger, lol. There's nothing wrong with it and it's actually adjustable on all 452s I believe. The yo dave kit is only a set of replacement spring and a shim if you want to go outside the stock adjustment range, it's not a full trigger replacement.

CZ offers the best combination of accuracy and aesthetics for any new rifle within the $700 limit.

Besides some of the used rifles listed previously, Remington 541s is another one worth considering.
 
CZ 452 Lux owner with Yodave trigger kit. Accurate, reliable, comes with well machined iron sights and adaptable for scopes too. Best of both worlds.
To improve upon you need to spend 3x the money or find an olden goldie as mentioned.

the very first gun i bought was a savage arms mark2 f .22lr and i LOVE it!!! i love it so much um buying another one day when i have some spare cash kicking around... mark2 TR and then add a nice 4-16x40 scope and a bi-pod and go sniping all day long for 5 bucks :D
 
my vote goes to the savage mk 11 for the following reasons
1. made in canada - very important to me
2. a model to suit just about everyone from target shooter to military wantabe to squirrel hunter
3. very reasonable price,
4. very reliable
5. very easy to get parts if something breaks - hey we shootem alot
6. more accurate than any rifle at this price point ought to be.

CZ 453 Varmint set trigger 22 lr for the money you want to spend ,it is about right and it love Eley ammo ... JP.
