with the way that read's ,I guess were good to use our 17 HMR now during controlled hunts,,remington say's their 17grain bullet 17HMR rimfire has a muzzle energy of 245 ft-lbs,or 22 win mag with a muzzle energy of 290 ft-lbs with a 32gr bullet,both below the 400 ft-lb requirements.Or at least thats way I understand it,,wich I don't mind at all,I would rather take out my 17 HMR then my 22 long,
