I want to have a friendly rim fire shoot on my farm in June for family friends. What is the most "fun" shoot you have heard or participated in I heard of an "egg shoot" sounds fun or gongs, spinning, hanging. Many categories iron sights, scoped, bolt, pump, auto, lever. 22lr, 22 wmr, 17 hmr, prone, sitting, kneeling, standing, Bench. A bag of water balloons filled with just air, stapled to a fridge box is entertaining. For more reaction dump in a little flour or some dry powder.
The next was a row of 10 metal chickens 3" tall, made out of mild steel set at 10 yards away.
Then theres the internet/free targets where you can print off sponge bob or a host of different targets that they pick and then take home to remind them of that day!!

For real explosive fun there's cheap pop in cans. Kind of messy though and more for heavier calibers.
