CCI minimag for 597

After shooting 200 rounds of CCI minimag in my 597 VTR without a problem, I was told that Hyper Velocity? rounds were too powerful for the aluminum internal parts in the gun. Could this be tue?

I can't confirm if it is true of not, but when I bought my 597 I was told the same thing... I

Mini mags are not hypervelocity cartridges.

After some experimentation, Minimags is all I shoot in my 597. Not a hint of a problem for the 700 or so rounds that I put down the pipe.......

Yup, my bad!
I just checked online and the MiniMags have the same or similar FPS as other high velocity ammo. As long as they work well I'll keep on using them.

The CCI Stingers are probably what folks are thinking about. I guess the CCI Velocitors are considered Hyper Velocity as well.

10/22 are aluminum as well , and it dose not state in the MANUAL "dont use hyper velosity 22LR". I shoot hyper in mine with no issues

I'd be concerned I perhaps had a chinese knockoff if my manual had a statement like that
