so i just one of blue lines bl-6 6 inch 870s and i have questions

i want a one point detachable sling
suggest where i could get this?

im also interested in an ar-15 style collapsing stock as it needs to have a stock to be non restricted length

is this long enough?

im also looking for a slimmer for-grip
somthing that folds and is available in canada
i dont care weather it mounts on the 870 tube or picatinny quad rail

I thought that dlask made them 6" and 8" a couple of years ago. they sell an assembled shorty on there site.

I believe the 6" will be restricted so unless you plan to carry at the range for bear defense the 6" barrel will be a no go!

no its non restricted with a normal stock just like the ones on a normal 870

now with the collapsing stock will make it under 26" OAL the normal stock is best to keep on it it will be good enough for it

dont need to get to tactacool for bear

For a bear, you'll likely want more than 2+1 rounds. Maybe if you could get a mag fed griz, with a short barrel. Also, my 8.5 inch griz only makes 26 inches (with a small bit of breathing room) with a knoxx stock in the shortest position, so not sure, unless you're going to make it not possible to drop the stock shorter than a certain length, you might not be long enough there, with the 6" barrel. That stock certainly doesn't look any bigger than a knoxx, either.
Personally, I'd figure a 12.5 inch with a 4+1 capacity, wearing the stock of your choice, would likely be the best bet. That's just the opinion of a guy off Teh Interweb, who doesn't even pretend to know anything about shooting bears, so take it for what it's worth (admittedly, not a lot).

My 870 wearing a 12.5" bbl and Hogue stock stock is 31", and gives up little in handiness while remaining much more shootable than a shorter configuration IMO, especially anything with a PGO.

Actually, my experience with short barrels has made me appreciate the usual 18-20" sized barrels a lot more, and if I had to do it again I might have stuck with the 18.5" I have and gotten a good folding stock for those times I need to make it shorter.

Knoxx breacher folder will put you over 26" on a 14" barrel, 12" barrel puts it 1/8" under 26", So no go.

If it's a male cop checking, no problem, tell him to measure it the same way he measures his d!ck and he'll add an inch or two.
If it's a female you're in trouble. She'll measure it the same way she measures her hips and take off an inch or two.
:)

It's 6.5 inch and non restricted because it's 26 inchs long... put a shorter stock on it or the pistol grip then it's under 26 inchs and restricted..

They sure are intresting to shoot that is for sure...

It's gonna hurt you more than the bear...............

I've fired a considerable amount of rounds through an 8.5 incher, I didn't find shooting a short barrelled gun to be any more painful than a full length barrel. It's still a fairly low pressure shotgun shell, with a projectile that is heavier, but not a whole lot faster than my 44 magnum rounds. Sure there's lots of muzzle blast, and one heck of an obnoxious amount of noise, but I wouldn't say it hurts.

I have an 8.5" unit.....

It doesnt hurt me, but it hurst others...... :p

Anyway, its a Dlask custom with a breacher etc.... I know you cant include the breacher in OAL, however, from the end of the barrel threads to the end of the Knoxx stock (fully col.) its 26.5". I had Dlask make me an aluminum trirail pump and I broke it in a month... they made me a new one out of steel and its been going strong for a few years. The best set up for me is a stubby vertical grip and a mesa side saddle with a burris fastfire. Its beercan accurate out to 50 yards (on a rest) and I love the Knoxx stock.

As for grips, I dont like the folders, they are two flimsy and I dont think that they would hold up to much magnum abuse.... They have a crazy blast and mine shakes the ground with that muzzle break on it. The positive being that I have scared off more than one bear with the blast from the warning shot. I have never had to actually shoot one, they just get gone when I let go with a magnum round in the general direction they are coming from. The only drawback I can think of is that the blast from the muzzle break burns the hair off your knuckles........

But thats fine with me.....
