Beretta AL2 20 gauge questions?

I bought a used beretta AL2 20 gauge of the EE from another member and i noticed that there was no spring on the mag tube is that normal for these guns? my SX3 has one. And one more question, when i go to put a round into the carrier it wont release unless you push the carrier release button, is that normal for these shotguns?

The mad tube does not have a spring -- Manoal same as 300/303 see this:

(i apologize) but you cant put a round into the mag tube without holding the slide release down, is these normal?
