Ammo to feed the Ranch hand

So, I have a 357mag/38sp on order.

Was wondering what ammo to feed this girl. Not a question on price, although cheaper is better on the pocket, but rather the distinction between cowboy action & standard pistol ammo. Is there one?

Or is it perfectly OK to feed her any 357mag/38sp ammo?

I've not had a lever action before & would honestly like to know the difference if any exists.

Cowboy action pistol ammo is low velocity for safety reasons.
They even come with plastic bullets!
Great for developing speed at close range.(Practice rounds)
Standard ammunition for hunting and self-defense faster velocities deadly.
