Personally I think the 22lr is a little light.
They did not request the lower jaws blown off so we didn't blow any off.
They did ask for bigger calibers and unskilled shooters.

I don't see what you find so unusual about culling with a .223 or head shots. The animals are butchered and sold so why would you want them all shot up and the meat wasted? If there was a better caliber for that job, it would be used. It isn't rocket medicine. It's point and shoot and make sure the bullet and target get to the POA at the same time. Even a caveman can do it with a pointy stick.
