went to the range today with my 14" hp9. i had some slugs i wanted to put through it including a 3" magnum. i knew damn well this sucker was gonna kick, and it did, and from the videos i saw it throws off quite the fireball. and it did. we got a video of me shooting 4 different types of shells which ill upload and host tomorrow or so, but in the meantime a picture from the video of the fireball :D

im sure ill get a better one once i open it up in another program and run it frame by frame

haha yeah i saw that video and thats how i knew what to expect out of the 14". thats actually a screen cap from an hd video my phone shot. ill upload the video tomorrow morning if i have time, its gonna be a busy day so ill do my best

haha nice man thats a sweet light show. i bet mine would do something similar at night time, now to find a place i can discharge it at night time and get some better video :D

you have to see a 3' magnum from an 8.5 grizz at night to believe it!

Youre Right! We DO! :nest: :D I'm still waitin to see what the old Federal Classic 3" 1 1/4 oz slugs make for a fireball in a shorty. Out of an 18.5" they make a pretty good muzzle flash in broad daylight, maybe similar to Uchi's first pic. Very slow powder...

Thanks! Haha, it's a lot of fun; that was the first time I'd ever shot at night. Whole different experience, that's for sure.

man i need to find a field with a hill to shoot into at night time. maybe ill drive out into the sticks one night and fire it off i know a couple places with no one for miles.

got any shots of the griz lighting up the sky? i bet that thing kicks like a mother being that short and not having a butt stock. i know after a few slugs through mine some being those mags my should felt like it was hit by a truck. didnt help we were shooting my r700 30-06 that day either.

just dont hold it front of your face & try to use the bead!

Correct me if I am wrong but wouldn't slugs like the Rem 7/8oz sluggers put off a bigger fireball? Heavier slug loads use less powder last time I checked.

They may use less, but some use a slower powder to keep down pressures, so it will be a huge fireball from a short barrel.
