SKS Carbine ?

Ran into a guy this Winter, packing what appeared to be a carbine version of the SKS. Chinese manufacture, with spike bayonet, but the barrel appeared to be considerably shorter than the norm. Didn't appear to be an after market modification, other than the folding stock he had on it. Never heard of one before.

X2, Chinese paratrooper, sks-m if it uses AK mags. shorter barrel makes it restricted.

Some early non military norc SKS's from Lever were 18.5 " for some reason. Probably to save money.

Navy Arms also had one called the "SKS Cowboy" that featured a shorter barrel. Some made it to Canada.

I believe that the Paratrooper model had a shortened spike bayonet attached to it.

Mines an 18.5". Still pretty long though, looks very similar to the normal version.
I'm guessing the one you saw is the "Paratrooper" 16" one. Which is restricted in Canada
