I am looking at buying a guide gun as well but, you guys got me thinking i shouldnt, that the new ones are crap, no i dont know what to do.

would be wise to handle one first, and check for all the obvious signs.

ok but if i bought one of the EE with JM stamped on the barrel im good to go, all things being equal.

Well committed to buying one off the EE as we speak, has the JM stampled clearly but its not a GBL. Its got a 22 inch barrel, nice looking gun just the same.

Looks like a good gun but it has something kinda silvery growing from the top of the action, I'd carefully grind it off before it spreads any further.

lol I'm with you on that Ben. I prefer no scope, but to each their own, as long as you enjoy it.

LOL....
I loved the iron sights as well....but age is getting the better of my eyesight. I can see a flea on a deers arse from a hundred yards, but put something 2 feet or less in front of me and it's just a blur......

Nice gun tho.....

I have my 1895GS and several other rifles set up with quick detachable scope mounts when I don't want the scope on I just pop it off and install a rear XS Sights either tall or low backup ghost ring sight.

I have the best of both world with this set up...

Yes I wanted to go with the QD mounts as well, but I had them PRW's NIB just laying around, so I figured I mosewell use them $$.

Carry a Torx wrench with you and your PRW's are quick detachable scope rings I have several sets of these rings and they return to zero when I reinstall them.

I have a few firearms that = they keep me safe when I need to be safe category my 1895GS is one of these.

So sorry the answer is "NO"...

Its a new SBL!!
Yes it has the JM on barrel, and serial begins with 91!
Everything seems perfect about it, pretty sure its one of the last ones that came from Marlin plant.
