Looking at getting a Left Handed Bolt Action in .223 Remington. I had a CZ in .22lr a while back and it was very nice. How do Remingtons compare, the 700 CDL comes in Lefty. Looks like Savage and Ruger make Leftys too, how are they?

I'm also interested in iron sights but only the CZ Lux comes with them and the stock does not appeal to me. I understand a 'smith could install them easily. Any recommendations on sights?

I'm pretty happy with my M700 CDL in 223.

If I was in the market for a new LH 223 I'd find one of the new Ruger M77s. CZ, Savage, Ruger, Tikka and Remington pretty much round out the bolt-action 223 choices available to us left-handed types...

Good luck:)

I'm looking at the same thing right now. I'd like to hear about the CZ's. Are they as good as the guy say they are? I just shot my savage 9317 and if I could get a .223 like that, it would be sold.

Some times if you keep your eye on the EE sites a custom one comes up but you have to be fast at the I will take it I did the math on this Bill Leeper semi custom and it wasnt much more than a factory rifle after tax this is a 1/2 moa shooter 223

I replaced my Ruger No 1 223 with a leftie CZ527. The joy of this rifle is that it is not a short action, it is a complete redesign-often referred to as a
MiniMauser. I have a CZ452 as well and if their site is to be trusted, they are both exactly the same weight. Something like 5.2lbs. It is a sweet little rifle and all I really needed to do was to bed it and float the barrel. Set trigger and it is adjustable. Nice thing is it only took 2 days for the shop here in Van to order it in. If you have the cash go for it. If you were in my neighborhood I would take you out and let you shoot it. Sweet ride to say the least and one of my fave rifles. I have been told by a number of dealers that actually getting a leftie Remmie is going to take some time-maybe up to six months and they are apparently quite expensive. The leftie CZs are usually just $50 more than the standard rifle. I have a leftie Ruger 77MKII in 30-06 but would rather have the CZ for 223 any day.

The Remington is drilled and tapped for scope mounts, how easy is it to remove to use irons?

Also Browning make a lefty .223, any experience?

I'm interested in lefties too. One thing the CZ USA site shows the rifling twist 1-12 don't know if that is a factor or even correct.

That will be a better twist for 55gr and lower bullets. Some of the ones I've seen are 1-9, good for up to 70gr I think?
