SL8 Fire failure

From what I can see it looks normal. And you have sanded the FBI housing down which is required for proper function. Is you sear spring installed correctly? While this usually would cause the hammer not the catch the sear, I wonder if it might be pressing on the hammer and slowing it down. If you remove you hammer and press on the sear does it move up and down and also front and back easily and then return to its normal position?

At what point does the fail to fire happen? First round of a reload, middle of a mag, or at random times?

Ok I will check the sear. But did I have to lubrificate the sear and the hammer??

The failure happen randomly. I can fire 50 rounds without any problem but sometimes it fail after anly 5 rounds... :(

My lower operates normally when dry. A little lubrication on the trigger components is OK.

spirit-

did you say what ammo you are using? i just bought 1000 rounds of american eagle and have been unimpressed. i fired 500+ rounds of PMC ammo out of my SL-8 with 1 misfire, but the other day with this new american eagle, i got about 7 misfires out of a box of 100. ive also shot ultra cheap brown bear(?) steel rounds out of it with zero issue.

i blame the ammo. the ammo is cheap and the gun is an HK.... who would you blame?

not saying your gun might not be the issue, but i have had a similar experience lately and am 99.9% sure its this certain ammo i have.

i also have a G36 conversion lower with the factory SL-8 guts inside it and have only had issues with this american eagle ammo.

That what I use! I have buy a green military metallic box of 1000 American Eagle. The 100 round box inside it, are Black and White. (100 round value pack)... I have try Korean 5.56 ammo and I get 1 misfire on 60. With the American Eagle I got a miss fire after 8 or 10 rounds.

I still thinking my Sl8 have something wrong. But maybe ammo have a influence too...

What is the pink Part's near the hammer on the picture? I don't have it! The hammer seem bending on it! Maybe SL8 hammer have less tension because this piece is missing???

I only had a G36 trigger pic so its not exactly the same. That is the auto sear for the "FUN" switch

lolol ok..

I will try to shim the pink Pin to compensate the absence of the "FUN" switch. Civilian SL8 and military G36 use the same springs. I think the SL8 hammer spring do not have enough tension for some ammo... Maybe it could cause the problem's...

my bet is still your ammo. your having a similar issue as i have had recently, and were both using the same crapy ammo. try 50 rounds of PCM or some nice stuff off the shelf and ill bet your misfire issue goes away.

You should not need to shim them. It should still function normally without it. The springs should fire any ammo you put through it. As others have said, have you tried different ammo? You could have a bad batch.

There are so many variables, that if the problem continues, I'd have it looked at by a gunsmith.

It's seem working!!! 140 rounds of my American Eagle and no missfire. I have slightly shim the pin. I used two Vinyl Tubing...

Maybe it was a Ammo issue, but now the gun shot all ammo... I have try other ammo and effectively it did not happen. But nobody at shooting range complain about this ammo. I have check closely G36 lower pictures and I can see all G36 hammers springs are "shim" few milimeters by the catch part...

See the catch : http://www.hkparts.net/shop/pc/Catch-HK-G36-177p1870.htm

Maybe this missing shim (less springs strenght...) added to a bad ammo (capricious primer...) create the problem's.
