any interest on Springfield Armory M1A rear sight?

I might be able to get some brand new SA M1A rear sight assembly.

These are with the proper adjustment in meters not in yards and I can get them through my contact but there is a minimal order that I have to achieve before they look at it.

I need two for myself and if I can gather enough interest I will put the order through, the cost is around $100 for the brand new complete rear sight and you pay actual shipping to your designation from Toronto.

Please pm for more detail as I might get some actual pics of the rear sight today or tomorrow.

Damn I just bought BM59 sights afew weeks ago :(

But with the amount of m14 out there "I would say $100 Springfied sights would sell very well"

If the NM I will take one though ;)

Yes, it will be the standard aperture as he don't stock NM (National Match) so he can't quote on price and availability but the complete brand new standard Springfield Armory rear sight is available based on if I order enough sets.
 
Intersting. The depicted sight is NOT a Springfield Armory Inc. manufactured sight, that is a re-parkerized USGI M14 sight, or at least the knob assemblies are. Not surprising as Springfield Armory provides refurbed GI parts whenever they are available.

The SAI made sights have snap-ring retainers on the elevation drum, while the GI ones were permanently pressed in at manufacture.

I do know their NM sights are new-made, but evidently they are currently shipping GI for standard sights. Cool.

Thank you for chime in as I have never seen an USGI sight before so I guess I will have to reply on your expertise on that!

So what is more sought after? Commercial sight or refurb USGI sight?
 
SA also has the letters SA stamped on the windage knob (at least mine does).

I'd say GI would be more sought after if it were me seeking.

The rear sight on pretty much all 2007 and prior Norincos are deemed not too useful due to poor manufacturing process / heat treat etc., they don't held up very well and not reliable to use if this is your dedicate sight (primary sight no scope etc for target practice) some even found them useless as back up sight for hunting.

Unfortunately, my contact for these sight doesn't carry tritium nor national match but he promised he will look into that and might be able to carry the NM in the future but no guarantee when and if 100%.
 
well, I'll keep my name on the list, and i've got 3 buddies off cgn that will bite as well.
i got to hit the ee for a set of garands in the meantime, but mark me down for 4 , 4sure ;)

and for those pondering this thread.....
garand and genuine m14 rear sights are a VAST improvement over correctly functioning chinese rear sights. While it seems that the newest imports are coming with improved rear sights...... the two items on the rifle most often machined poorly are the flash hider sight base and the rear sights. At 100.00 a set for mint rear sights , that's a pretty good deal compared to hundreds for genuine usgi m14 rear sights in the same condition.
Hit this deal if you are contemplating a rear sight change.
 
Just got home from work and in case I missed some PM and have not respond to you please send a reminder to me again so I know exactly how many I need to order.

I have reached their minimum requirement on the order and I will put in the order tomorrow.

And if all goes well, I will require a small deposit from those who interested and it will takes a week to 10 days before I got it (depending on how soon the sight clear custom).

You guys don't need to pay the balance until I have the sights in my hand ready to ship.

I will keep everybody update and most likely in a day or two.

I have already complied a list for those who posted here and those PM as well.

I have just emailed my contact and as soon as I confirm the numbers of sets he can secure for me I will start collecting deposit.

I noticed some of you might have bought the SA flash hider from me before (recognize your screen name;)) so this will be from the same source so you know there won't be any quality issue.

So far things is looking good and I should get enough for everybody including myself:D

I will post here as soon as I hear back from him (usually within a day or two the most).
