Looking for a SA 3" 12 gauge shotgun, would like new, as used are hard to find, and don't want to spend more then $500.

I saw a Stoeger 2000 that fits my bill, but only cause it is on sale. And a Weatherby SA-08.

Are these good guns that will shoot target load reliably? Should I look at something else? Or anyone have a SBE they want to sell for 500? lol.

Use is basically screwing around with buddies shooting clay and maybe some duck.

my H&R excell was under $400.. while I dont shoot it alot, it has never failed to cycle when the adjustment valve is in the right position.

it cycles the lightest target loads, to the 3" magnum turkey loads

Im shocked its not more popular

Id also look at Baikal... I think they can be had for under $500

Where can I find a H&R? You selling yours? lol

One of the best semis going for the price (in my opinion) is the Mossberg 930. You should be able to get one for around $500.00.

can't seem to find one to see the pice. Looks good though.

Wholesale Sports has the black synthetic 930 listed at $529.00 but you can get them cheaper than that from sponsors on this forum. In fact just a couple of weeks ago someone on here got the 930 with an extra barrel (combo) for around $480.00. So they can be had for under $500.00. They are a pretty good gun. I got one for my wife in walnut and one for my dad in synthetic. When I got the synthetic new 2 years ago it was $419.00. Most people that have them really like them.

Another one to look at for just a bit more money is the Weatherby SA-08 there are a couple of guy at my club use them for sporting clays.they don't seem to have any problems shooting light target loads.

i will sell you mine for 450, other than that, I like it too much.. Cabelas, lebaron etc were clearing them out a few months ago.. seems like epps is the only one that has them listed now...

Which would have me leary about getting one. I am not trying to be a smart a-- but if you are looking around the $500.00 dollar mark, the Mossberg is quite common, most people that have them love them, they can be found in many gun shops, parts will be readily available, they are made in the U.S. and they perform. What more could you want in a $500.00 or under shotgun.

The reason the H&Rs arent sold anywhere is because H&R isnt importing them from turkey anymore... Now they are being sold as USSG SARSA shotguns, but I dont think they are in Canada yet.

At one time, the same gun was sold as the Verona sx405

They are made in Sarsilmaz Turkey

I will shoot mine till it breaks.... especially since its the rare Walnut stock version..... Unless someone offers the right amount lol

I found one, and it is under 400, but it sucks I can not find anywhere to hold one. I really like the Weatherby, and found one for 550. So I think I might get that one.

Thanks everyone for the help.

I was in epps last weekend comparing the h&r excell to the weatherby SA-08. The fit and finish of the guns are VERY similar. The guy behind the counter said flat out that the $200 difference in price was only because of the name
