I've been looking around for a rifle to plink with(less than 100 yards). One as fun as the 10/22, but, not restricted so I can take it small game hunting. I want a little more impact than a 22 and a round I could reload. The CX4 Storm and the JR Carbine in 9mm seem to fit the bill. Compact, simple blow back operation and more than 5 shots in the mag. But which one and why? Any input from owners beyond what I have read would be most helpfull.

Cheers

I have a JR Carbine, I really like it so far. I have only put 30 rnds down range with it. I put a EOtech on it and its a super fun gun. I also believe the JR is cheaper than the CX4 too.

Love the jr. Have only about 250 rnd through it, but it's running good, has a rail, and is tons of fun! Some AR furniture compatibility, and ten round mags! Been very happy with it!

I am waiting for my JR to show up, at least a couple more weeks. I miss my CX4 though and will most likely get another one but will hold out for ne in 45 ACP. The JR will be a keeper but the CX had awesome ergonomics.

Drewz, when did you order yours? I was sure I saw in a post somewhere that you had ordered yours before I decided to order mine???

I have the Storm in 9mm and love it to death. Purchased all the goodies (except haven't replaced the barrel yet - to go unrestricted). I think I'll wait and see what happens in Ottawa first......

What is the accuracy like on the jr carbine? I was looking at one too. I think it would be fun but not if it shoots all over the place. What are they like?

Well if you look up Farmer Harv's posts in te topic he started it is actually really good. The main reason I have to get one is the multi caliber ability ust like my XCR. The fact they are coming out with .40 and .45 acp for it is the selling feature that hooked me.

Another gun to consider is the SUB 2000. I had one and sold it as it sounds so mechanical adn I hated the feel compared to the Storm. I am going to be keeping the Storm and the JR.

I know you said non-restricted, BUT... nothing beats bump-firing goodness like a 9mm AR ;)

Mechanical sounding as in name or as in physical functioning? I am looking at the SUB2000 but don't want a rattle trap.

My JR is an absolute riot to shoot! I have no optic on it, only Magpul flip ups, but it shoots as good as I can make it at the indoor range. I think with a decent optic, I could get it to group very well.
