argh,.bad ideas at GLobal Village

our sport is being run into the ground by a bunch of fahking idiots. How long till there are hand signals for range commands? that way they can ditch english as an official language. Those signals will work great with walls and shooters in the way.

the #### gets deeper,...you should check out GV.....I can not believe half the stuff. I am glad Rob said something. He has a good point and someone had to say it. He (vince) doesn't appear to be getting on Sean's good side either.
I have a name for a shooting organization,...it is called NAPSA. Guess what it stands for....

Think its time for an IPSC uprising, toss out the dictators and get people in power who have a clue. 3-2-1 is going to make for some lame ass matches. Allowing the RM to DQ someone for doing something they think makes the sport look bad is going to open a huge can of worms. What if the RM is some Jesus freak prude? DQ'd for saying Goddamn, DQ'd cause a womans shorts were too high, DQ'd for having a tatoo.

I'm ok with hand signals for calling scores. Worked quite well in Czech last year. RO had lost his voice and could barely be heard past a few feet. The score keeper was also injured and couldn't follow the RO out to distant targets.
The stuff I've disagreed with I think is all newspeak PC bull####.

Very soon we will be to told by the powers above to scrap our powderburners and buy all new plastic toys for this: Level III Action Air

Now they have no worries about major PF and destroying metal plates...

No need for hand signals because the whole event can be set up in a gymnasium and no one wears hearing protection.

I just had a look at all the new topics at the GV to do with new rules. How come the only people making a really BIG fuss are all from Canada? Nearly all the really negative (some would say nasty) posts there are from you, Slavex and Maurice?

BTW, most of the shooters in the airsoft video above also shoot real gun too! Here's a more recent video of my group:

"DIal it down,...last call"....sounds like you really hit a nerve.

Truth hit a nerve...he just don't like it. I always thought I would get booted before you.
How the christ am I getting rid of this tattoo? Maybe I could put pre -2012 IPSC...

You know what I don't understand? How come you just shamelessly kiss ass? WHen, have you ever objected or found issue with anything,...except sticking up for Vince you never object to anything? IN life that is impossible, unless you turn a blind eye and allow things go with out being checked.

Every drive by a car accident and keep going with out stopping to help....? I would be the first person out of vehicle and offering to help in any way (which I have done many times). I am sure you prefer to hear to evil see no evil, but if we did that IN THIS COUNTRY, we would probably have to store our firearms in a central storage facility, or not own firearms at all.

If he takes offence to what we have said,. then maybe he should self reflect. WHY are we against some of the proposals? Just because we like to be #### disturbers?: NO, because they make little or no sense to promote IPSC, help it grow, or increase safety. It appears most of the rule proposal and changes are set up to increase the work load on match directors, RO's, and increase the likelyhood of honest competitors getting penalties and DQ's.

Not that it's really relevant to the topic...but I do find in curious that most of the people in that video are left handed

Why are we complaining? Probably because we here in Canada have had too much spoon fed bull#### when it comes to rules for "our own good", and we can recognize it now, well in advance. Even Vince has had to admit some of our concerns are valid and that some of the proposals need to be looked at again. Good thing the Canadians are keeping an eye open eh?
The current set of proposals is, for the most part good, but the ones that are poorly thought out, or poorly purposed, deserve to be called out and set with. Throwing red herrings into te discussion as Vince did in the sight picture thread, serves no purpose other than to derail the discussion. Something that would result in a banning from him were it one of us doing it.
Further, this idea that "democracy" allows one large group to dictate what everyone else does, is a farce. We all know that there are regions very closely aligned with certain people and their views, as such, certain results are never really a surprise. There is a reason IPSC doesn't allow individual members to vote on rules, if they did the sport would much more closely resemble USPSA, which in my opinion, especially now, might not be a bad thing, democracy in action though right?
I love IPSC and hope some of the proposed changes don't occur as they will degrade the sport if they do

If you could switch off your megaphone for 5 minutes, get down from your soapbox and actually have face-to-face meetings with people other than the ones who kiss your ass as you lecture from your bully pulpit, you might learn something new. You criticize Vinny for telling you what's best for you, then you turn around and do exactly the same thing. Apparently Vinny don't know ####, but you know everything. Pot calling the kettle black?

That's probably why you love the USA so much. Don't do what we do; do what we say.

Why don't you tell me instead of pretending you know a big secret?

I'm told the reason is the IPSC Constitution. Do you really believe the USPSA lets members vote on rules? Open your eyes. The BOD does whatever they want, but Americans don't care if they're shafted by other Americans. They only object to foreigners.

Make yourself happy and do everyone else a favour. Dump IPSC, join USPSA, and get on with your life.

Peace!

As Madness said, USPSA seems to be much more responsive to members than IPSC.
As for going the USPSA route, well, we'll see what happens after the vote and the mood of other shooters here in Canada. Honestly though, even without the crap going on right now, I'm not sure why Canada hasn't joined the USPSA previously. I guess we'd lose our vote in IPSC though. The payoff however would make more sense to our members as more Canucks shoot in the USA than elsewhere around the world. So having the same rules and targets as USPSA would benefit a larger number of shooters than staying in IPSC would. And keep in mind I'm looking at this analytically as I can't even shoot in the US and I live 15 minutes from the border.

A simpler solution might be to just adopt the Uspsa rule book. The US uses it and is still a member of IPSC so we should be able to retain our IPSC affiliation but operate under the USPSA rules...

We could be CPSA and us a Canadianized USPSA rule book.
