CZ 858 dead trigger

It moves forward about 3/16". I hurt my fingers pulling it up when fully forward, I didn't actually pry it with a tool. Looking at videos I can see it it moves forward normally but it doesn't go up anywhere near normal.

And the nut is rattling freely inside the receiver.

Anyway, I'll get to the bottom of this tomorrow. Thanks for your help Stevo. If you think of anything else i'm all ears.

Sardaukar please ensure that the trigger retainer bar is in the locked position once you have access to the inside of the reciever. It is located were the trigger is on the side wall. It should be a straight T instead on on an angle T.

You're welcome.

I'm stumped. Got any buddies close by with 858 experience?

i just bought same gun has same problem 1 no fire for every ten bullets. cleaning also same issue look up cz858 on you tube theres one that helped me. gotta hold trigger in and #### it and keep holding trigger and lift up back part hope that helped u.

Just a shot in the dark here re your dust cover... you are trying to remove it with the bolt carrier full forward aren't you?

I played with mine and couldn't find anything that I could get it to hang up on that hard except with the carrier held open. There's really not that much in there.

Something that might help... If you can remove your stock easy enough, you can get a good view into the back of your receiver. Mines a folder so it's pretty easy to take off.

Good luck and let us know what it turns out to be.

Laveycraft, I tried this a couple of times to no avail yet.

And yes, the bolt carrier is fully forward.

I noticed the sear pin is now extremely loose. What would happen if I took it out? Any chance it would help?

Knocking the pins out might work. But if you don't know where everything goes you may have some fun trying to put it back together. If they are loose then it's a sure indication that something either broke or the retaining clip came loose.

I just looked at mine again. I took my stock off and had a peek inside. The only thing I could see holding the cover in place are the springs being hung up on something. Or the lower spring rod coming loose and getting stuck on the receiver.

If you can get the stock off there are two big openings that let you look right at the trigger mech and the springs.

... just tried something with mine on a hunch. If I #### the gun and before pulling the trigger try to take the dust cover off I get a similar situation to yours. The dust cover is hard to push forward and wont come up much.

I'm thinking it's a possibility that the striker(or whatever it is called) may not be going forward all the way. If the lower spring rod is still inside the striker you can't lift the dust cover up.

Tried it. The firing pin is flush with the bolt face after dry firing.

BTW, just noticed your sig. I lol'd.

i think what happened, is this..: while you had the striker stuck out, you tried to open a dust cover, and by pulling too hard (so your fingers hurt)you broke the dust cover spring guide rod... now even though the trigger works, you cant open the dust cover, the loose rod keeps getting cought on the reciever...

this might be a long shot, but try cocking then releasing while holding a gun upside down or sideways. that might help.

Good luck

Well I only tried pulling really hard after I got the trigger to work again. And breaking a rod with only finger force?

I tried upside down and sideways but still no.

I'm having a 'why is this happening to me' moment.

mine too

My retainer bar was bent so it did not sit still. After a few shots it came loose and the trigger pin came loose. The trigger became wobbly. Really hard to explain without pictures. I had to puch that pin and guided it back into the slot from the outside of the reciever.

Inspect to see it all the pins are pushed in place properly, and flushed- from the outside of the reciever (triiger group).

If anyone knows how how I can bend that retainer bar back please let me know. It is I think spot welded to the indies of the receiver. I had to put locktite on that bar- but is only a temporary solution.

I apology for saying this, but what kind of quality control is this ? I get the impression that you guys find this to be totally normal from an almost brand new firearm.

The Gremlin is not uncommon and will happen on un-tabbed VZs.

You can't draw any conclusion regarding not being able to disassemble the rifle when it may be an issue caused by the owner.
