I have a Winchester 2200 12 gauge with an IC choke.
My understanding is that winchesters take standard Invector chokes though newer ones take Invector plus (Which arent interchangable, correct?).

Now, I'd like to know if there is a quick way to identify which chokes my shotgun takes. The choke I have is screwed in by hand(no tool), meaning it extends past the barrel and is knurled. If it is invector plus, will the barrel or choke tube have that info?

I believe it's an older gun - would the very fact that it is a 2200(which I believe was only made up to a certain date, though ive had a hard time finding a lot of info) mean it takes invector and not invector plus?

If your Choke extends out of the barrel and is knurled it's more than likely a WinChoke.

Standard Invector Chokes are flush fitting unless you by an extended aftermarket one.

WinChokes came standard with Winchester Pumpguns that were threaded for chokes.

Page 22 of this BPS manual will give you all the codes you need. Win chokes folllow this to my knowledge also.

Your chokes on the 2200 would be Winchokes compatible with the standard Browning Invector chokes.

You are correct that Winchoke guns are not compatible with Invector plus choke tubes.
