Who says Mosins can't shoot straight?

They're like a cartoon spoof of themselves. More yapping than a kennel full of Shelties.

Two shots, no kill, even at three feet.

Then bubba puts his foot on the head to conceal the gasping of the dying hog from the camera.

"Is he still alive?"

They are all surplus rifles, but I think you can find unissued ones. A lot are refurbs. Mine is a 1943 Izhevsk that was refurbished in the Ukraine. I bought it from Badger Arms.

I had the sound turned down so I couldn't hear what those guys were saying but a good Mosin should be more than capable of making that shot. Whether or not the man could have made the shot I'm not too sure. It's just a youtube video after all so who knows :)

At 300yards that pig would have been just a tiny dark spot probably smaller than the width of the front sight post. Now if this guy had put hundreds of rounds down that particular rifle, had a good rest, with a clear and calm day, and he'd made shots like that before, then I could believe it happening.

Hell, Riflechair can make bull and vbull shots on figure 11 targets at 500 metres with a No4mk1* and that's without a rest and other rifles booming off a few feet from him. But he's put literally thousands of rounds through that rifle in all weather conditions.

Haha, I was thinking the same thing.

What a bunch of buffoons. Who needs to burn off all that McDonalds and Burger King when you can drive on your hunts, too?

If I was ever stupid enough to take my Mosin on a hunt like that without some decent optics, the last thing I would do is brag about spine-shooting a hog... and then shooting the pistol in ricochet range of the person filming it.

Idiots.

Mosins are good rifles; actually I think they are the best bang for the buck right now, period.

Unless I see a video of that guy shooting tin cans at 200 yards on a regular basis with his Mosin however, that show as luck.

He can still send me some hog ribs if he wants though...
