Service CQB2 07 May 2011 - What do you think? Post here!

Fired off a couple hundred rounds today, Boli! I spent much of the afternoon working on my pistol performance (that's where I lost many points in my first match at the clinic).

Oh, practicing eh? That's sort of cheating no?:D

Ok seriously, good for you. I have to do the same. My pistol performance is crappy. Looking forward to CQB3 for sure. Hopefully I will get to the range a couple of times between then and now to work on the "little" gun.

I am encouraged that I seem to be using the grip taught at the clinic automatically now. Muscle memory can be a good thing....as long as you muscles are remembering correct technique.

I put about 100 rounds on-target yesterday with the pistol. I was using the IPSC cardboard targets, and got 100% of my rounds into the 'B' zone at 20 yards. I have been doing dry firing at home most nights, using the grip techniques from the clinic, and it paid out on the range yesterday. That clinic was gold!

Learn to call your shots. I didn't really get to cover this at the clinic (I could probably fill two full days with just pistol stuff and still not cover everything) but just like with rifle shooting put up your practice target and keep a note book with you and mark down your shot calls as you fire each round and then compare them to what's on target. If nothing else this really helps you to pay attention to what your sights are doing. Here's a good video...
