I like my Leupold M8 scopes but the lack of an audible click on the adjusting dial throws me off.

How far is the adjustment of one "click" or graduation supposed to move a bullet's point of impact at 100 yards?

Mark 8 Click value

Each graduation equals one inch at 100 yd.

The clicks are not 1 inch at 100 yards. They are equal to .1 mil clicks which is
0.36" at one hundred yards, as one "mil" is equal to 3.6 inches at 100 yards.

So what you are saying Evan, if I understand correctly is that three "clicks" will move the POI 1.08 inches?

I am not sure what scope he has. I am sure that on a mil-dot scope with a mil recticle, and .1 mil increment turrets that one click equals .36" at one hundred and 10 clicks =3.6" at 100yards. If he looks it up on the internet there is scads of information regarding learning how to use a mil-dot reticle etc. And yes MD, the point of impact would move 1.08 " at 100yards with three clicks. The mil system is a courser adjustment than that of the MOA system.

Older M8 are not click (audible) adjustable compared to the newer FX prefixed scopes.

M8 are coin slotted friction adjustable dials, both dial discs are marked with grads ranging from 0 to 30 in 1" displacement at 100yds. Great hunting scopes but a bit slow and awkward if you have to dial a new elevation in field and in low light condition especially with older eyes. ;)

I have and use both versions. The newer FX solves the afore mentioned problems and my FX6 is click adjust. at 1/4".

First of all, welcome to CGN. Missed that earlier.

He doesn't mention a mil-dot reticule, anywhere in his post.

Sorry for the confusion. I thought that he was talking about the new Mark 8 series copes by leupold that offer the mildot configuration with mil-turrets. I have not seen the older model of scope.
