Shot my first turkey this morning, foggy morning overcast, 3 hens flew out of the roost about 40yrds out this Tom followed them out about 5 min later, the poor bastard caught a glimpse of a dave smith jake trying to mount a hen and came running in. it was the last thing he did, put the red dot on his neck and he didn't even feel a thing. after jumping around and high fiving my buddy i had calling for me (very thankful to have him with me, great hunting partner/caller) i took some pictures.

Congrats! I am looking to get my first turkey this year too...only problem is I haven't had a chance to get out yet and I think I may have missed the boat :( (I am getting one last chance next weekend on my friend's property, where he says there's a small flock of 5).

never too late. all i can say is do your homework, scout, look at maps walk the ground so you know every square inch. i hope it works out for yah, it's an amazing feeling.

Congrats. Beautiful loking bird. Looks to have a good beard on him as well. Bac4

9 3/4" not a monster but it's thick.

WOW, Big turkey. Congratulations, and thanks for posting.

thank you

sounds like a great hunt!

one of the best of my life. all the leg work, scouting, and fuel in a truck that gets 11mpg, makes it all worth it.

congrats, love the decoys, tell me about the system under the jake, motion? remote?

just a motion, two long strings with a kite handle on the end so you just twist and pull to make it turn around. only problem is that dave smith decoy is a bit heavy for the stand and doesn't like to turn naturaly. so we don't spin the jake. it works awesome on our lighter decoys though. those dsd's are amazing though so realistic, and can handle a massive #### kicking.
