RFB with muzzle brake

Got my RFB a week ago and dropped it off at Dlask last Wed (just reopened after a 5 week holiday) for threading. Picked it up this morning, only 3 day turnaround, simply outstanding. I had one of Joe's brakes on my AR10T and decided to try it on the RFB. Also had a SEI DC Navy brake and decided to go with it when I got home. You'll note the SEI has a shaft on it, it allows a silencer to be connected, it's just for looks. I hope to try it out next week.

They both should do the job, but do some accuracy testing with both. With the scope you have on your RFB, I'm assuming that accuracy is important to you?

IMO the DLASK brake should offer more uniform gas flow than the Smith. The DLASK brake opens slightly at the top of the baffles, but it should give more balanced gas flow than the Smith. Just my opinion but you would have to test it to be sure.
 
I'm going to test only the Smith as it was a bugger to line up, it was a 1/4 turn to line up and now it's on really tight with that crush washer. It's on to stay. I've only got that scope on for 100yd accuracy and will probably put on an Eotech or similar later. That Dlask brake is one loud mother! Then again so are the SEIs.
 
I put the PWS on mine...I don't really notice but the people to the sides of me do...my son says he practically went deaf from the concussion :p (oops!!)

One of the advantages of living in Texas is being able to put a suppressor on. Looking at 7.62 cans from AAC at this time. Even with the suppressor, the OAL will be about 35".
The RFB has alot of potential.

Yes...it's truly sad that we can't have suppressors (I'm thinking of the children here...gotta keep them hearing well ;))

Now that you have a government thatmay actually listen to your concerns, why not suggest from a health standpoint, or, concerned neighbor. We want to be good neighbors, we've built a new baffel system at our range and if allowed suppressors the neighbors won't be disturbed at all. It amazes me that the British almost insist on them, and the U.S.A. and Canada control them so much. I blame Hollywood and Jimmy Cagney.

No, if this is in reference to silencers/suppressors.. most of us know this is a dead-issue. It doesn't matter who is in charge, the matter isn't going to change.. so most of us don't waste our time getting into fights over fantasy. I want to see the long-gun registry get abolished first.. and I'm not even holding my breath on that one!
 
For quiet .22 shooting I found a CZ 452 with a 29" barrell. Utilizing 29gr WINCHESTER or CCI CB Longs creates a very quiet shooting experience. I also modify the bullet with a Paco Kelly accurizer, which helps accuracy in the rifle. If you have a barrel 24" or longer it will be very quiet. Some complain of lack of accuracy. I lucked out with my Remington and my CZ they shoot decently out to 40 yd.

Keep in mind, the CB Long is using a 29 gr .22 Short bullet, so ideally you need a barrel with a 1 in 20" twist. If you have an old gun that is a dedicated .22 Short with a longish barrel try the CCI .22 Short CB.

I have been tempted to get a 1 in 20 twist barrel and have it chambered for .22 long. Now that I have suppressors, I wont worry about it.
