Came across this great site by accident and thought I'd join up (Hope that doesn't bring property values down very much.) My shooting starts at air pistols and air rifles and goes up to .458 Win Mag and Valmet select-fire 5.56 M-76F. Testing out my new Kel-Tec RFB in 7.62x51 at this time.

Hope to learn a lot from the shooters of the north.

Welcome. Shooters from Canada and the US have a great deal in common, and we can all benefit from cross boarder learning opportunities.

Shooters cant come from Texas. I thought only steers and Qu33rs come from Texas.?
Sorry, had too..
Welcome sir.
Did you buy the standard or heavy barrel RFB?

Welcome:
Hang around and read our politics Forums.
You'll learn a lot about what could be coming your way, if you are not vigilant.
We won a big one with the election of a Conservative government May 2, but we lost a lot of ground in the previous decade or so.
Your selective fire for example: Those who own any are "Grandfathered" and limited to keeping them in their safes. No range time for them.
Handgun barrels under 4 1/8" are prohibited as are any handguns in .25 or .32 caliber, unless you are grandfathered for them.
Learn from our experience.
The leftists did a good job dividing various disciplines from one another, something that persists to this day: Hunters vs handguners vs. "black guns" etc.
All that said, again,:welcome:

Thanks very much and merci beau coup, for the welcome. My outlook on guns is similar to that Cowboy Philosopher of the early 20th Century, Will Rogers, I never met a gun I didn't like. Looking forward to exchanging ideas.

I was in Texas a few years ago and went out to look for some dogs and hogs. Called some coyotes, but they wouldn't show themselves. Crossed paths with some hogs too, but it was dark by then and we didn't have a proper spotlight with us. Had a lot of fun, just the same, and will go back again. :D

Howdy Tex and welcome to CGN: warning - it is addictive! You will find we all have a lot in common and here in Alberta many of us tend to think of ourselves as being the "Texas of the North"

:welcome: to the Forums! You should find many answers on here!

And ............ take "some" of them with a grain of salt.

Also, we hope your blood pressure is normal. Once you start finding out what our Gun Laws are, after laughing yourself silly, you'll realize we're not pulling your leg. Your blood will boil (like ours) or you'll shed tears of sympathy and empathy.

Welcome, kindred soul.

Welcome! I am originally from Texas so Alberta really isn't that much different at times. Cold Texas sums it up. Minus the AK's/Spas-12's/short barrel pistols etc.

...amazing BBQ, GRITS, biscuit gravy, chicken fried steak, Lone Star beer, good football (GO AGGIES!), Southern girls, good tex mex.....

the list may keep going on.
