First step: WAIT!

Second step: Save up to 300$ while waiting.

Third Step: You now have 1000$.

Fourth step: Get a Canadian made AR for under 1k from Neit Arms

:D:D:D

absolutle agree with this. i own a nork. kitted out with magpul gear. paid little over a g note for it a few years back. at that time it was a good deal. my norc is excellent for what it is. good shooter and the finish is ok. i bought it to use not to look pretty.

however if i had to do it again at this point in time, i would drop the g note on a canadian AR. it is after all a canadian AR. i only wish i had the option to buy a canadian AR for a g note a few years back. i would have took it.

Patience.

The Kel-Tec SU-16F is compact, lightweight, .223, and non-restricted. It is soon to be available here in Canada, and will fit the bill for a NR .223 fun shooter. It will also be well within your price range...
Well... they're supposed to be in the $900 range... so within his price range +200, but not as cheap as I'd like to see.

I'm hoping the SU-16F comes in a little cheaper, but for a NR .223 in this interesting configuration, it should be worth it.

I'm also crossing my fingers (but not holding my breath) that when it's finally here, shortly afterwards the used prices will do a reverse-EE and actually go down... ;)

its in .308, but i've decided on M14 / M305- either Norinco or Polytech, from either Marstar or SFRC....just a question though, that I can't find an answer to here- do these come with any sort of rails (ie: for scope or foregrip) ?

Arms 18 is a good scope mount...about 200 bucks though

FWIW, I posted in another thread how you can build an all north american AR right now with chromed barrel, milspec everything, for around $1000. To each his own.

Not likely I'm afraid, from what I hear they'll be coming in limited quantities. The price is a heck of a lot less than the RFB, that almost ran reverse EE - I'm thinking some guys didn't know what they were in for with the cost of .308
I've got an SU-16 on order with Wanstalls, expecting it to be a keeper
They're saying likely around $939

I should've mentioned, preferrably non-rest., but I see yer point. How much should I expect to be paying for a non-rest. black rifle in .223?

Cheapest you will find in .223 in NR is prolly a mini14, some may not consider it Black though, just sayin.lol.
Anything else is very expenss, start saving.:D

Ohh, CZ858 NR would fit the bill. Wolverine or any other site sponsor will have them.Around $700. Cheap ammo to boot, but in 7.62x39. WHy .223?

options??

I know it's 9mm not .223 or 5.56 but if you want the "look" and NR why not the JR Carbine? If not that than Claven2's cheap AR build id the way to go I feel. My parts came in at $1003.00 plus taxes and shipping.

Utah, good to know about the SU-16F, I do hope you get a lot of enjoyment out of it; I'm giving it a hard look and am debating between it and a Norinco M4. The fact that the SU-16F is NR and can be enjoyed off-range makes for a notable difference.
