argh,.bad ideas at GLobal Village

My concern about the draw rule would be the RO who looks at the competitors gear BEFORE the stage even starts and thinks, "Hmm...There's no way he's going to be able to draw without sweeping himself. I'll watch him extra carefully on the draw..." An RO could subconsiously make up his mind before the draw actually happens.

Not to mention the RO is looking at a , 30 to 45 degree angle not straight down on the gun/foot

That would be my concern...and that describes a ton of holsters.

I watched Slavex's draw very carefully a couple of weeks ago for this...Bladetech DOH, a common holster in lots of competition circles, and yeah, pretty hard with that slight outboard cant to avoid a possible sweep of knee or toes. I think it would kill all kinds of normal draws from all kinds of normal gear.

And definitely if you get an RO with a hard-on either for authority in general or for you personally, I would guess this would be easy to sink you on.

I think it will end up that way, the RO will decide ahead of time you are going to sweep yourself and instead of recommending you adjust it he'll just wait for the draw and issue the DQ, he'll see it if he wants to bad enough. I'm not saying all RO's will work this way but we all know ones that will....or they'll warn you to adjust and then bump you to Open once you do...

Vince told me to mind my business about Mike and the threat to call police...then said stop causing trouble or i would be gone.

wow,..that was childish of him,...but expected. He makes a statement but does not allow me to respond.....unless it is first looked over by a moderator.
We were talking about safety, how it pertains to drawing from the holster. He then asks if Ed Head of GUnsite, and Matt Burkett are experts on IPSC Rules....has nothing to do with being an expert on the rules....it has to do with being an expert in gun handling. Both a lot more respected at gun handling than he ever has been.
If you don't see me over there, you know why.
Cheers folks.

Since the homepage has the IPSC crest, and he is using the membership database to allow access, it seems that GV is operated by IPSC. In which case his actions there are everyones business. People need to know what type of lunatic is running that place and the risk of having opinions and religious views contrary to that of the managment
10 day waiting period, wtf?????? why bother posting.
This is what happens when you don't have to answer for your actions

You guys need to be more culturally sensitive.
The behaviour we decry is the new normal in a society ruled by a totalitarian State.

Will this affect USPSA rules?

What is the actual chance this new sweeping rule will go through and be put into play?
I ask because i don't know how the votes ect work on a global level.

It would depend on whether or not they are voting on the rule changes in whole...or in parts.

If it's a vote for all the changes in one package...my guess is it will pass.

Also some think that it is a rule that will be easy to comply with and well it's for safety. Who could not vote for something that is about safety.
