I'm looking for a cheap red-dot for my 10/22. What do you guys recommend? What are the TRUGLO sights like? What about the Tasco Red-Dot? Also, on ebay, is there any difference between crossbow red-dot sights and those made for .22s? There isn't much recoil on the .22s so maybe they are interchangeable?

I don't know of cheap and decent go together :D :p

I just use a Tasco Propoint ($140) myself, I've also used a bunch of different airsoft clones that have worked well too (aimpoint, eotech, acog). Even though its a .22, I wouldn't get to cheap on the optics. Some use Vortec Sparcs (very nice) or even real versions of the clones listed above.

Find something that you like within your budget and work from there.

I use a Bushnell 1x28 red dot on my 10/22, it's been working great so far. The only cons are the small objective diameter and slight dark tinge to the optics. I find myself using Tech-Sights much more often however as I really enjoy the sight picture and fast alignment.

Don't buy the super cheap-o scopes, even for a 22. I've destroyed a couple of gun show specials in fairly short order with what I thought would be low or moderate recoiling calibre guns (9mm, 223, 22 WMR, 30-30 Win). On the other hand, I've put the Bushnell on a .270 bolt action for fun and it's held up just fine (not that I recommend it!).

I've had a cheap aimpoint clone on my AR for a while with no issues, should be fine on a .22
