While out camping with family and relatives, brought the 12.5" out to try some trap shooting.

Now this was nothing anywhere neer professional, it was more of shooting off the 5 rounds in the mag, then passing it onto the next guy to try, etc.

But I could consistently get 3 or 4 out of 5, and could get a perfect 5/5 allot too.

In the end its not a trap gun (obviously), but dont be sacred to blow some clays up with it.

If by trap, you mean chucking clays and shooting them, I agree. I do very well at that as well, even throwing them myself and shooting them. Even with the 8.5'er I can do pretty ok.

If you mean the formal game of trap shooting, I'd be less agreeable. To be honest, I wouldn't even want to bother going, just because I like to keep better company ;)

I'm just going to leave this here:

Skeet Shooters Hate Me

lol yeah, its going to be interesting what people say when i bring it to the actual range for some trap.
Im not actually competing, just blowing up some clays.

We had a spring operated thrower.

I heard of this one guy doing allright with his outlaw double 12ga. on the skeet. I think they let him shoot just to see whats happens with it. The fireball was cool from a ways away.

I fellow nut brought his out to the Club last year and I went 1 for 1 on our Trap range. I was pretty surprised that I really smoked the bird.

As long as you're safe, I don't care what you shoot.

A member on this forum got very close to a perfect score at one of the clay games (he won the day) with a 20"590a1 with bayonet mounted much to the dismay of the geriatrics holding their high end doubles.

Not to rain on your parade, but you were shooting informal clays, not trap. And you said yourself you were shooting 3/5 at times.

So ya, you hit some clays. But shooting straight away informal clays with a more normal shotgun should be almost perfect for the average wing shooter (like 24/25 or better).
