2011 APRA May Day Match

It is a go this weekend - we are shooting the short range (300m doubtful, but 400, 500 & 600m are clear) Saturday and the long range (700, 80-0 & 900m) Sunday.

17 shooters out today, encountering some strong quirky SOUTH winds at 400, 500, 600 & 600m (range faces north). 700, &00, 800 & 900m tomorrow.

Yo Scotty,,, was there many new faces??? I wanted to take the daughter but I had to teach a course and couldn't make it...we'll be at the next one...

Yo Dale,,, yes we had some new faces for the May Day shoot. There was three from Cranbrook BC, one of which was maybe only 5 years older than your daughter. So you should definitely bring her out and let her give it a go. I have seen her shoot many time and she is amazing.
We also have a Free Clinic on June 4th i think we shoot 400m & 800m
This would be perfect chance to get her feet wet so to speek and i know she would Love it.
Regards
Scott

I'll make sure I get her out for it... Henry's barreling a rifle for me in 308 as we speak.. she'll be able to shoot it in F Class...

out of curiousity, what's the round count for the day...

For the June 4 clinic?? 2+10 at 400 and again 2+10 at 800. extra rounds for sighting and practice (numbers depending) are okay. We're pretty relaxed at the clinic/new shooter days. More uptight on match days, but still willing to give new shooters the benefit - LOL!

For match days, typically we're shooting 2+15 at each distance. Short range will have 4 distances per day (300-600m), long range three distances (700-900m).

thanks Scout.. I pretty sure my daughter will be ok with 30 or so rounds... recoil is always a factor with a kid and I don't want to wear her down to bad....
