i was loading up some .45 acp today and wow i couldn't beleive the difference in the cartridge weights. and how i was getting a deviation of 20 grs. luckily before pulling all 400 rounds i decided to check my cast boolits weights, case weights etc. i have some a merc cases which weigh on average 100 grs each. then feds are close to 89 grs each, winchesters close to 87 grs each. old military brass 79-84 grs each. i guess what i am trying to say is weigh your cases before loading.i pulled the lowest and highest to double check charges but they were ok. so tommorow i am sorting all of my brass by brand then going to sort out by weight afterwards.kinda shocking when you weight one/first case at 298 grs, then the second comes in at 311 grs. just a little knowledge that i learned today and thought i would pass on.
