The snowbuntings are out, seagulls have returned, ptarmigan are everywhere ... now where are dem dere damn goooooseys? :D It's almost spring here so they gotta show up soon ... hell even our lakes are still a wee bit frozen ... Whats your GO-TO gooser gun? Pics? Pics with geese? I've been shoosting loosey goosey's with my Mossberg Maverick 88 for years ... :D

Pretty simple here. My old browning gold 10ga in black syn with a remington 10 ga SP-10 camo as a back up gun.
Fed with my own reloaded 10ga steel duplex loads around 1750 fps.
Smoke em.:)
 
Not sure why you guys are getting birds yet.

These 2 were sitting on my parent's front lawn last week.

I saw a couple hawks, two flocks of geese and some cranes ... and my mossberg got me 14 ptarmigan today ... :D

Nobody's shooting geese? Damn weather has gone for snitz here lately and too cold for the lakes/ponds/puddles to thaw ... see the geese flying back south and super high ... hopefully this weekend will be different as I wish to eat me some goose! Let's see your goose guns folks ... :D

Me? I sell my goose gun between seasons and buy a new one when I get the urge.

I am just glad to live in an area where we have seasons for hunting:D and if you have a craving for geese, maybe it is because you did not shoot enough or put away enough when they were last here?
 
My bad I forgot about seasonal hunting south ... wasn't my intention to rub it in! Mark Dube very nice ... BANG BANG! :D

p.s. it's funny as lots of folks up here kinda have a season too ... as shoooost them as they fly up north, however very shortly after we stop while they nest and then nothing all summer long ... and only a few people shoooost them in the fall as they prefer the spring goose as they're grain fed from farmers fields before they come up and are nice and fat ... in fall they taste like berries and tundra ... YUCK! HAHA
 
I just got me a new to me 12 guage in semi-auto from a friend ... Winchester X2 ... I'm gonna have to go up the road tonite and see if I can bang me up some geese ... never shot 3 1/2 shells before ... :D Pics to follow! :D LET'S SEE SOME MORE GOOSE GUNS GUYS ... POST'EM IF YOU GOT'EM! ;)

Turkeyslayer, love the pics and shotguns. My new to me Winchester Super X2 semi bought from fellow board member "catworks" ... I'm going gooooosing this weekend. :D

Those SX2's are good guns, I am just a broke student though so mostly shoot cheaper guns.

Good luck this weekend with the Honkers we are only 3 months away from our Early season here in Ontario.

It's funny I took it to work today as we do bird/mammal control ... lots of geese try to land and hang out at airports in the ponds and such ... I shot once to scare off some geese ... HAHA ... then tried to pump the forestock ... DOH I forgot it's a semi! HAHAHA :redface: :redface: :redface:

So have my southern brothers/CGNer's started their goose season yet? If not, when is your season? Let's see some more gooser-shotguns ... :D
