How to get someone to shoot your bear?

Family what can you do?
I have some in Muskoka with a couple hundred acres. They have a big immediate family with no hunters. Big family gatherings that involve food and the outdoors as would be expected of cottage country but this is their primary residence.
So for the last couple years they have been noticing Bear activity in, on, and around their house and acrage.
Recently some relatives came to visit and, one Wooden shoe, wooden head, wooden listen, was bound and determine to see a bear. Over hill and vale he went and before the hour was out, one found him, slid down a tree thrashed around a bit in the underbrush and our very pale relative came back and changed his shorts.
So I suggest they get someone to hunt this season and bag the bear. No we don't want anyone shooting at the house or barn or car. It seems too risky, and the bear really has not been a big problem, you know we keep our eyes peeled and don't go out as much. Well I explained that hunters are not the whiskey crazed, trigger happy, hillbillies of folklore and legend.
So how can someone find or contact a respectable hunter with good credentials that they don't know from Moses?
Do you put up a wanted ad on the notice board of the IGA?
How do you find someone who will calm the property owners and put down a bear.
 
I'd post a note at the local firearm shop...references required.
Actually, the odds of getting an idiot are pretty slim, particularily if he's the only one hunting the area. Idiots, like chickens, tend to huddle together. :D
 
Its family, but not me. I don't really know how many bear there are but I guess that's more for the hunter to find out.
I don't have my courses or paper work yet and when I do I don't think a bear is the first thing I should go looking for.

Yeah man - do it yourself!!!

That way, they know you're not the whiskey crazed, trigger happy, hillbillies of folklore and legend. But then, even if you are, who cares - 'cause you're family!!!

my brother in-law and i were hoping to bag one or two this coming season. if you're willing to let us use your land, we would be happy to take it off your hands.. the bear, not the land ;)
we would be clean and respectful of course, and would only set up wherever given permission.

I would probably be willing to take a weekend trip up this fall. I'm sure you will have lots of people interested. You just need to get the word out there.
 
I have no problem hunting bears or with bears being hunted by others. I have no problem destroying a pesty or dangerous bear. But I find it curious that someone who is not a big game hunter would want a bear destroyed when it was only sighted occasionally, when it apparently hadn't damaged property, killed stock, or a pet, and did not inflict an injury when it was inappropriately approached. But then I chose to live in bear country because I like being around bears. If I determine a bear has to go, I don't ask for permission, look for volunteers, or say much about it.
 
You will likely find many respectable hunters that will be more than happy to hunt on private property. If you are unsure about doing it yourself, then choose a Gun Nut and tag along on the hunt as backup. Your family should be at ease if you are present and it will be a great experience for you. Why shoot the damn bear if it has not done anything yet. Stay in the city if you dont want to see animals in their natural state.

I'll try to clarify here.
I am not the property owner.
What I'd like is some ideas on how to find a local proficient hunter, that I can then suggest to the property owner how to contact them.
