It seems the 300 Whisper is beginning to reach the mainstream. Hornady has begun making this ammo. I love the 208 AMAX in my Whispers.

I certainly hope it's brought in Canada fairly soon. I e-mailed Gravel Agencies regarding .300 AAC Blackout ammo and reloading components and they told me it would be at least a year before those would be here.

At least Hornady would be an option.

Still waiting for Hornady to list the 300 AAC Blackout ammunition on their website.

Will the Whisper fire in a 300 AAC Blackout Barrel?

If you click on the link it says specifically. YES you can!

I would love a Whisper AR15 upper but Canada wont get any of this ammo for 5 years, our ammo sources suck.

Come on man, click on the link and read it yourself right from the horses mouth.

There's nothing in that article would indicate that it would take 5 years for the amo to hit our market. That's why I asked for your sources. You're either exaggerating or don't know. Which is it?

From the Hornady site:

Ssshhhh – Hornady® is loading the 300 Whisper®

Originally developed and pioneered by J.D. Jones of SSK Industries, the 300 Whisper is a highly efficient cartridge based on the 221 Remington case necked up to .308. Renowned as a subsonic cartridge for use with suppressed guns, the 300 Whisper from Hornady is available in both supersonic and subsonic loads. Compatible with guns chambered for the 300 AAC Blackout, the 300 Whisper from Hornady is a reliable performer with or without a suppressor and brings a new level of flexibility to the AR-15 platform.

Odd that they released it now, Hornady usually does their releases at SHOT in Jan.

I would definitely snap up a barrel (preferably shorter 10-11") and ammo if somebody would import the 300 AAC blackout into this country plus ammo (as long as the price is decent, no gouging). The reason I say Blackout over Whisper is because it seems like more manufacturers are coming out with the blackout barrels. I think these would be great sellers for any company that could import them.

Wilson Combat has also started putting out a neat looking 30 Cal round 7.62x40 WT and their own ammo. The only problem is you cannot use your 5.56 magazines, you have to use the Wilson mags.

But you can fire BO in the Whisper barrel but not the opposite - going BO tends to limit options...

I was unaware of this difference. People definitely have to start reloading. It opens up so many options. Finding Blackout brass is actually not that difficult if you buy it from the states, while following importation laws.

Under 1000 pieces of brass, under $100 is still legal to ship across the border right?

No, not correct. Besides, where re you getting 1,000 pieces of Whisper or Blackout brass brass for $100?

You can't, but Bradswarehouse.com sells 500 pieces for $95 + shipping.

I haven't emailed them yet, but I am sure he would ship it as it is still legal.
