New CZ 550 UCS (Urban Counter Sniper)

Old thread, drug up.....anyways...beyond the good or bad rifle argument.....a CZ dealer told my dad and I that these are prohibited in Canada because they have a muzzle brake that is compatible with a Surefire suppressor....not they have a suppressor, but that one can be mounted to it.

True or just more stupid dealer horses**t. Nothing would surprise me out the FRT lab since the MP15-22 fiasco.

(Same dealer wanted $4600 for a used, basic, no accessories TRG-42, so my confidence level is not high)

I call bs on that dealers part.....

There are a lot of Surefire MB556K's on AR's in Canada.

I call BS. If it doesn't reduce the sound of the firearm, it doesn't matter.

Yeah, I figured BS for the same reasons......he can't get one so tells people they are illegal....I'd out him if I was more of a jerk......;)

I told my dad about the Ruger Scout, but he had a real crazy infatuation for the CZ...what can you do? I own a 460V and a 45/70 BFR that make no sense either...haha

I just sitting here wondering if there's something wrong with me that the question "is this any good for urban sniper supression?" doesn't come up much when I'm considering a firearm purchase. I'm more of a "can it hit a gopher at 300 yards?" kind of guy. But your mileage may vary.

I don't think that question was raised in this thread...at all....in fact I re-read all the posts and didn't see anything related...there was discussion of accuracy inside 300 yards or so......but not of any type of sniper duties, regardless of what the CZ website may advertise the rifle as, it is a short barreled 308 with some nice goodies, simple. :D

Like I said, I was just questioning the idiot dealer....I love the idea of a scout length 308, be it the Kimber, the CZ, or the Ruger Scout, or even a custom build.

Doesn't look too bad, but for that kind of money, I don't see why you cant get a custom for a better price and quality, I am building one for myself in 20" in 338lapua. you can get you local gunsmith to custom yourself a rifle similar to that quality level for less than 2K...
