Hornady makes 300 Whisper ammo

I would definitely snap up a barrel (preferably shorter 10-11") and ammo if somebody would import the 300 AAC blackout into this country plus ammo (as long as the price is decent, no gouging). The reason I say Blackout over Whisper is because it seems like more manufacturers are coming out with the blackout barrels.

The Blk IS the same as the 300 Whisper. The two are interchangable. The Blk is just SAAMI standardized where the Whisper is still technically a wildcat.

I think these would be great sellers for any company that could import them.

Or make them here. I just happen to have a 300 Blk reamer.

With respect to the brass issue, why not make it from cut down 223? It is super easy and much cheaper than buying the stuff. A second option is to buy 221 Fireball brass and neck it up. Again, super easy but a bit more expensive.

I'm reading all sorts of mixed opinions on other forums. Some say you cannot fire a 300 blackout in a whisper barrel or vice versa? I guess that's where the reamer comes in? Either way, considering the Blackout is SAAMI standard I would expect there would be more factory ammo options down the road so for that reason I would probably lean towards it although both rounds are pretty similar from what I can tell.

I do reload for my AR's so I am not against reloading for a 300, it's just I like to have the option of buying factory ammo also and a variety of factory ammo choices is nice. Half of the ammo I have shot through my guns have been factory. Just for this reason I would lean towards the Blackout for myself although both the blackout and the whisper would be great.

Are there any dealers on here that deal with (import) Noveske parts? They have some nice looking 300 Blackout barrels.
