So I put low profile Troy sights on my m4. Fired it and it shot 3 feet too high at 50 m. I raised it a lot looks stupid high and still 6in too high.
Is there different taller sight post available? And if yes...where?
Please help...

Did you install the front sight on a same-plane rail, or a railed gas block? If the latter, you bought the wrong BUIS.

There are taller sights available from Brownells. Also DND C7 front sights are taller as well.

Rear sight is on upper receiver front on handguard. Its YHM guard. Looked to be same level but I never put straight edge pn it to find out. There was someone here some tome ago with same issue but on regular sight... I'd like to know how he made out

Are you sure the sights you bought are matched for same plane? Just sayin'....

You might need something like this:

well...i cant tell whether its the sights not matching or the handguard with the receiver on the gun but the part you posted would be a solution.
thank you

Low profile Troy sights are designed for firearms with top rails that are higher than the standard M4. And you need a matching front and rear sight as a set. If you're shooting too high and raising your front sight to compensate, you're probably only using a front low profile sight.

A matching low profile set is useful to those who prefer a sight line that's as close to the barrel as possible.

Well I want to mount an optic later so low pro sights are better so I don't have them in the way. I do not want to mount it too high.
The sights were supposed to be a set but I guess not.
I will talk to the seller and see what he can tell me.
Who sells Troy brand on site sponsors?

For a simple check if they are same plane, just mount the front sight right in front of the rear sight. you should be able to visually tell if they are on the same plane. A gasblock front sight will be obviously taller.

might post a picture later...i have YHM handguard. looked at the set up again and they are not that far off. so still no solution. looked at the sights sights match.
but still i had to take post up so much the ring on the bottom sticks out of the baseand i can see threads...yet it shoots 6 in too high still.

Which one? An alloy one? Freefloat? Is it damaged? Was the rifle dropped and the forend bent down maybe? YHM doesn't sell crap.

its aluminium free float. brand new never dropped. has slight play when loosened the lock ring. when tightened its a slight lower on the front. i still do not think its enough to cause the problem. i think i will just get the sight post replaced...100% sights are good. running out of ideas otherwise. could be combination of things...
lesson learned. mount sights on the barrel...thanks all for ideas
