Adjusting lever pressure on Win 94

It seems like it is really hard to override the pressure on the lever of my model 94 Winchester (for the trigger safety). I have cleaned the rifle (which was pristine anyways). Just wondering if this is normal or if I can adjust the spring pressure some how?

Remove the butt stock, by taking out the one, long screw in the top tang.
On the bottom is a flat spring, with a screw to give it more, or less, pressure. Lighter pressure will give a weaker hammer fall, but is much easier on the action.

I bought a latter version Winchester trapper a while back and it has a trigger block safety that is disengaged when the lever is fully closed.... the spring that pushes down on the safety block is way to strong and pushes the lever open forcing the shooter to squeeze and hold it shut when shooting.

I haven't yet but I plan to shorten or bend the spring that is causing the issue..... and it's not the hammer spring.

This is the way mine is. I fixed it by adjusting the spring. Also I rounded off the block that goes against the trigger. It was way too long from the factory. It is a 1976 model right at the time when winchester was the crappiest.

Nice, I'm just not used to having to hold the lever up in place while pulling the trigger back. If I think about it I can hold the lever till the trigger passes the block then relax the lever grip but I'd rather reduce the required pressure a bit....
